Exotic Synchronisation of Time Crystals Outside Symmetric Subspaces

Date/Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM | Tuesday, 19th November 2024

In this talk, Dr. Sai Vinjanampathy will be exploring continuous time crystals (CTCs) within the symmetric subspace of spin systems which has been a subject of intensive research in recent times. Thus far, the stability of the time-crystal phase outside the symmetric subspace in such spin systems has gone largely unexplored. Here, he will show the effect of including the asymmetric subspaces on the dynamics of CTCs in a driven dissipative spin model. This results in multistability, and the dynamics become dependent on the initial state. Remarkably, this multistability leads to exotic synchronization regimes such as chimera states and cluster synchronization in an ensemble of coupled identical CTCs.

Quantum Computing (Programming & Simulation) Internship

The I-HUB Quantum Technology Foundation, IISER Pune is inviting applications for a 3-month internship in the Quantum Computing (Programming & Simulation) domain.

It is an exciting opportunity to simulate real-world quantum problems at scale on an accelerated (GPU-enabled) system. I-HUB QTF, in partnership with NVIDIA, is introducing the ‘Challenge to be Quantum Ready’. In this challenge, selected teams will be provided access to NVIDIA GPUs with capabilities of up to 36 qubits.
