Exploring Exchange Bias Through High-Pressure Synthesis of Double Perovskites

Date/Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM | Wednesday, 15th January 2025

Prof. Kazunari Yamaura’s study explores the development of novel bulk materials with exceptional exchange bias effects, addressing the limitations of spintronic devices reliant on layered magnetic interfaces. His talk would focus on Cd FeOsO , a newly synthesized compound with unique properties under high- pressure conditions, positioning it as a strong candidate for next-generation spintronic materials [1-3]. He compares its exchange bias effects with leading materials, emphasizing its advantages and potential for enhancement. His approach includes synthesizing and analyzing Cd FeOsO bulk samples, evaluating their performance under various conditions, and conducting theoretical analyses using density functional theory (DFT). This presentation will discuss the material's properties and its potential impact on future technologies.
